More Than a Fitting: Navigating the Wheelchair Process

 Last week I went to Upstate Medical rehab to be fitted for a new wheelchair. It was about a 2 hour appointment! I found out I’m 5’11” and don’t weigh much.
Next step is having a physical, I guess to prove I need a chair! (Really?) Then processing insurance and reviewing physical therapy justifications. I was told anywhere from 3-6 months, let’s see!
