A New Chair, a Great Aide, and a Few Unexpected Twists

Well, I’m happy to say I’ve gotten a long awaited upgrade for my wheelchair. Since I have been in this chair for the last four years, my legs will spasm and I almost slide out of it except for being held in by my seat belt. I’ve used straps around my thighs and calves to help the situation. Well, the solution has been a new knee blocker which is not quite up to par. My legs still spasm and now they get stuck under the blocker and I can’t bring them back to the correct position…..ugggg!
We’ve hired a new aide in the last month and she is working out great. We had hired a fun young lady who had to leave after about 3 months because she was pregnant and felt it was too much physically for her. Always something, changes you just need to accept. Anyway, my new aide is so nice and also a great cook, I’m appreciative when she shares her creations.
What I’m planning on next is getting a cell phone with only texting. Since my speech is so difficult, I’d love to find an inexpensive phone that I’d use only for texting. Any suggestions??
