Job Title: Senior Accountant, Grade 8
Reports to: Director of Finance
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the timely completion of monthly journal entries, annual budgets, financial reports and financial analysis. Provides support to the Director of Finance in preparation of monthly internal and external financial reports. Oversees the agency’s accounts payable functions, and any miscellaneous computer functions required for the business office.

Essential Functions:

• Provide supervision to A/P
• Reconciliation of A/P and Fixed Asset sub legers
• Preparation, input and maintenance of annual agency wide budget
• Preparation of program and grant budgets for granting agencies
• Preparation of quarterly financial reports for granting agencies
• Preparation of monthly Grant Managers Reports for all agency programs
• Preparation of year-end financial reports for granting agencies
• Preparation of other financial reports as required
• Financial analysis of program expenditures, payroll and expense allocations
• Computer and Software problem resolution in business office
• Answer any question arising in the business office in the absence of Director of Finance
• Preparation of all journal entries for ARISE, Foundation and ARISE at the Farm
• Preparation of all month-end reconciliation of Grants expenditures and Grant Accounts Receivable
• Preparation of all monthly and quarterly vouchering for Grants and Accounts Receivable (excluding Clinical billing)
• Code Cash Receipts and maintain Cash Receipts records
• Assist with Payroll Processing/Reconciliation/Recording
• Maintain Grant Files for financial use
• Resolve problems of a financial nature directed to the business office
• Respond to priorities with a sense of urgency, open to changing priorities
• Uphold the codes of conduct and ethics as well as all ARISE policies and procedures
• Hold protected health information and other sensitive information in the strictest of confidence in accordance with ARISE and HIPAA policies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum five years’ experience with budgeting and financial reporting
• Knowledge of non-profit fund accounting and State of New York CFR reporting requirements
• Extensive knowledge of Financial Related software, computer spreadsheets utilizing Excel, Word and Financial Reporting download software (FRX)
• Excellent communication skills to direct staff and work with grantors’ financial personnel
