Individual & Systems Advocacy
ARISE is committed to removing the barriers that keep people with disabilities from fully integrating in every aspect of their communities. As an Independent Living Center, we are at the forefront of advocating for access, choice, and self-determination for individuals with disabilities.
ARISE advocates for the rights of individuals who have all types of disabilities on both an individual and a systems level.
Individual advocacy services help you learn to advocate for your personal rights, such as those related to health care, education, benefits, and housing. Self-advocacy is one of the most important skills anyone can have, and ARISE is dedicated to helping people learn to advocate for themselves so they can maximize their choices and live independently.
Systems advocacy works to change policies and remove the barriers people with disabilities face in their everyday lives. ARISE advocacy staff and consumers work together to make system changes, including those related to government policies, transportation, public accommodation, and housing.
We encourage you to get involved in advocating for system changes. Visit our Advocacy Center to learn more about how you can help advocate for change!
