Self-Determination Plan Assistance
Are you interested in taking on additional responsibility and work so you can increase control over your life?
ARISE’s Self-Determination Plan Assistance puts people with developmental disabilities at the center of service planning. Because participants have a lot of say in the structure and delivery of their services and supports, this approach is often called self-directed services.
If you receive Self-Determination Plan Assistance, you will work with an ARISE Self Determination Broker to gain control of your own individualized budget. With guidance, you develop and implement your own plan for supports and services that help you achieve the life you want. You also have the authority to recruit, hire, train, and terminate, if needed, your own staff. This gives you more choice over where you live, work, and participate in recreation.
If you and your family choose Self-Determination, everyone must be willing to accept some additional work and responsibility for planning, implementing, and overseeing your plan and budget.
