Advocacy Groups in Oswego County
Advocacy groups work to remove the barriers that keep people with disabilities from fully integrating in the community. Groups focus on specific issues and work together to advocate for change. Members of advocacy groups are actively involved in advocacy action alerts.
Spectrum Parent Group
SPECTRUM Parent Group is for parents who have children with disabilities. The group offers support and information concerning children with disabilities. SPECTRUM meetings focus on the need for parents to document requests for services through their school. There is a short presentation as well as a time for everyone to share their concerns and ideas. Teenage children of attending parents are encouraged to come and join the Central Square Social Group, which meets at the same time.
