Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”)
The United States Department of Health and Human Services passed comprehensive regulations that implement and enforce certain requirements of HIPAA with respect to the privacy of individually identifiable health information; these regulations are referred to as the HIPAA Privacy Regulations.
