 April is Autism Awareness Month

The Sibshops “Sibs” would like to remind everyone that April is Autism Awareness Month.

On April 24 the Sibs and ARISE staff will meet at Leighton Elementary School in Oswego, NY to participate in the 4th Annual Autism Walk. The walk, hosted by the Oswego County Autism Task Force, raises awareness about Autism in the community.   It takes place from noon to 2 p.m. at the school track.

Research shows that early identification is associated with better outcomes for individuals with autism. To help identify if your child may have autism, learn milestones that your child should be achieving. Talk to your doctor if you are concerned. In the meantime, interact with your child as much as possible. Click here to visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Act Early web page.
