Project EMERGE Launches ASL Video Series
ARISE and Vera House, along with our community partners, have created an inclusive system to provide comprehensive services to people with disabilities and Deaf people who are survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Project EMERGE, funded by a grant from the Office on Violence Against Women, strives to ensure access, equality, empowerment and safety through the efforts of knowledgeable providers.
The following videos were filmed in American Sign Language and include voiced narration and open text captioning. These videos are some of the first in the United States to provide information on domestic and sexual violence accessible not only to Deaf but to all. The accessible videos help build awareness about these issues, particularly among Deaf individuals and individuals with disabilities.
ARISE is committed to an open and safe environment for people of all abilities.
