 ARISE Foundation Formed - 2012 Board of Directors Elected

Syracuse, NY – ARISE Child and Family Service, Inc., is pleased to announce the creation of the ARISE Foundation, a not for profit corporation. The ARISE Foundation promotes, solicits, receives, and provides stewardship for gifts, bequests, endowments, or any charitable contributions made in support of the mission, programs, and activities of ARISE, a non-profit Independent Living Center run by and for people of all ages and who have all types of disabilities.

The following individuals have been elected to serve as the inaugural Board of Directors: Denise McGraw, Chair; Jeffrey Grimshaw, Vice Chair; Don Scholl, Treasurer; Agnes McCray, Secretary; Kim Brown; Lt. Col. Edward Cook; David Dreverman; Lynn Hamilton; Carol Kranz; Tom McKeown; Kristen Smith.

ARISE serves children and adults with disabilities through more than 50 programs and services in several broad areas including advocacy, employment, independent living supports, information and referral services, inclusive recreation programs, mental health services, and peer counseling. Programs are primarily based in Onondaga, Oswego, and Madison Counties, though some programs serve an 8-county region across Central and Northern New York.

ARISE has offices in Onondaga, Oswego, and Madison Counties and operates ARISE at the Farm, a 77-acre recreational facility in Chittenango, NY, and ARISE & Ski at Toggenburg Winter Sports Center in Fabius, NY.
