Workshop on State and Federal Rights of Employees with Disabilities
This workshop is designed to introduce the rights of employees with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the New York State Human Rights Law (HRL), and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Topics will include:
- Overview of federal work incentives for beneficiaries of Social Security programs
- Requesting reasonable accommodations
- Examples of accommodations for employees
- Complaint process when employment was terminated due to discrimination based on disability
- Rights under the FMLA
