ARISE Consumer Council
Description
As an Independent Living Center, ARISE is run by and for people with disabilities, and people with disabilities are involved in helping make decisions regarding policies and services. Why? Because one of the core ideas of the independent living philosophy is the belief that people with disabilities know best what supports are needed to live independently.
ARISE’s Consumer Council plays an important role by providing input on the agency’s advocacy strategies, policies, and service delivery. We encourage you to consider getting involved in helping shape ARISE’s future!
This month, we will have our meeting as a picnic at the Manlius Mill Run Park off of Mill Street in Manlius. The meeting will be used to promote the Consumer Council and to recruit more members. The location is on a fixed bus route.
