Clinical Engagement Specialist – Oswego


 Job Title:         Clinical Engagement Specialist, Grade 8

Reports to:     Clinical Supervisor

FLSA Status:   Exempt


  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
  • New York State License: LMHC, LMSW, LCSW
  • Demonstrated ability to function both autonomously and as a team member
  • Knowledge of government benefit systems, community resources, NYS Office of Mental Health regulations
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a human services setting working with individuals with mental health conditions
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation
  • Demonstrated cultural competence in working with diverse populations

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and facilitate collaborative relationships with health care and other community providers, act as clinic liaison for referral process and provider requests
  • Develop marketing tools and provide mental health trainings to community partners and members
  • Conduct community meetings and events related to mental health topics
  • Contact individuals receiving services and community members for administration of satisfaction surveys and report aggregate data from the survey
  • The following duties are in collaboration with an individual’s assigned mental health clinician:
    • Individual Engagement and Assessment: outreach, assessment of need, troubleshooting challenges to attendance at clinical appointments as well as linkage to professional and natural supports.
  • Collect and report outcome data on a monthly basis. Create program reports to funders and the agency
  • Maintain case records in accordance with regulatory bodies
  • May provide coverage on a rotating basis for the after-hour crisis line
  • Provide crisis counseling services on an as needed basis
  • Uphold the codes of conduct and ethics as well as all ARISE policies and procedures
  • Exercise sound judgment as a matter of course and hold protected health information and other sensitive information in the strictest of confidence in accordance with ARISE and HIPAA policies
  • Other duties as assigned
