Job Summary:     Responsible for verifying and posting receipts as well as resolving discrepancies

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for posting all Commercial, Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care insurance checks into the Practice Manager Software System in a timely manner
  • Responsible for posting all Commercial, Medicaid Managed Care, Medicaid and Medicare insurance checks in Evolv in a timely manner
  • Responsible for ensuring batches are balanced accurately
  • Ensure the month-end closing schedule is followed
  • Responsible for following up with any unpaid non-clinic claims with Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care insurances in Practice Manager. This may require phone calls, retraction forms, appeal letters, or going to their web site.
  • Responsible for researching and entering into DocuSign write offs for the non-clinic programs and following them through to completion
  • Responsible for checking each paper claim for non-clinic and clinic billing prior to mailing to ensure billing information is accurate
  • Responsible for making copies of EOB’s necessary for any secondary insurance
  • Must notify Billing Manager of any variance or potential trends that could result in delay of processing
  • Initiate electronic transmissions through the Electronic Health Record (EHR) database
  • Uphold the codes of conduct and ethics as well as all ARISE policies and procedures
  • Exercise sound judgment as a matter of course, and hold protected health information and other sensitive information in the strictest of confidence in accordance with ARISE and HIPAA policies

 

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree with a minimum of two years office experience preferred – or – equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with Commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billing
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, EXCEL, Practice Manager, and Evolv
  • Good record keeping skills, time management, organizational and math skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
