Director of Community Programs and Services, Grade 10

Reports to:             Chief Operating Officer

FLSA Status:          Exempt

Job Summary:

The Director of Community Programs and Services is responsible to supervise daily operations of community based programs, to coordinate and expand program services, and to ensure compliance with all required regulatory guidelines including, but not limited to, OPWDD and ACCES-VR as well as ARISE operating standards. The Director Community Programs coordinates with ARISE departments and teams, and other providers; ensures fiscal responsibility for programs, implementation of Person Centered Principles into all service foundations, ongoing development of staff, and completion of all records and reports; and participates in agency activities as part of the administrative team.

Essential Functions:

Activities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise daily program operations for community-based programs, including budget monitoring, interviewing, scheduling, orientation, performance evaluation, and discipline
  • Coordinate existing programs, expand existing programs and develop new programs, initiate innovations in line with program needs
  • Oversee and maintain the timely completion of all necessary records and reports
  • Coordinate with other departments and inter-disciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of quality services
  • Coordinate services with state and federal governmental and regulatory bodies, community and local agencies and health care providers, when applicable, to ensure that program needs are met
  • Ensure that the programs operate in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Ensure ongoing staff in-service and professional development needs are met, and that staff certifications and/or licenses are current
  • Participate in activities as part of the administrative team that may include meetings, attending and/or conducting trainings and participating in or chairing committees
  • Write grants, and coordinate volunteers and interns
  • Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency’s culture, values and mission
  • Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards
  • Uphold the codes of conduct and ethics as well as all ARISE policies and procedures
  • Exercise sound judgment as a matter of course and hold protected health information and other sensitive information in the strictest of confidence in accordance with ARISE and HIPAA policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor Degree, Master Level preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
  • Basic Computer Skills (Windows, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel)
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted
  • Must have a valid New York State Driver’s License
