Respite

Our Respite services give parents and care-givers a much-needed break. Whether you need to work, run errands, or just relax, we can provide safe supervision and a variety of social and recreational experiences to children and adults with disabilities.

What types of respite are available?

  • After-School Respite – Madison County
After-School Respite is offered on weekdays between 2 and 6 PM during the school year (including summer school) for school-aged children with developmental disabilities, as well as half-days. Services are provided in Madison County at the ARISE respite center in Chittenango. Respite schedules are based on each participant’s individual needs.
  • In-Home Respite – Onondaga and Oswego Counties
In-Home Respite is available in Onondaga and Oswego Counties to people with developmental disabilities. Participants need to be at least three years old and live with family. Services are offered in the participant’s home, and can include time in the evenings and on weekends so caregivers can run errands, enjoy an evening out, or relax.
