Part-time Respite Coordinator (0.4 FTE)
Department/Program: In-Home Respite
Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Oswego Office
Job Summary:
The Respite Coordinator will coordinate the services for individuals authorized to receive in-home respite services through ARISE.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field; or, Associate’s degree and 1 - 3 years of life and/or work experience with individuals and/or children with developmental disabilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to supervise, train, lead, and support a team of part-time respite staff serving individuals enrolled in the program
- Leadership experience
- Ability to track, gather, and compile data for reports, billing, and payroll approval via computer; familiarity with MS Word and EXCEL
- Good written and verbal communication skills, especially with parents of the consumers
- Good time management and organizational skills
Essential Functions:
- Implement policies, procedures, and required forms for the in-home respite program
- Complete intakes to enroll new consumers in the respite program when units of service are available or to ensure full utilization of existing units.
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise respite staff as needed.
- Conduct performance appraisals and disciplinary discussions as needed.
- Meet regularly with supervisor on best practices, program development and expansion, budget and staffing issues.
- Gather and submit documentation for Medicaid billing to the Business Office weekly.
- Collect, review, and approve bi-weekly staff payroll and mileage reimbursement claims in EZLabor (electronic timekeeping system).
- Maintain consumer records including intakes, safeguards, ISP’s, Medicaid waiver authorizations, monthly statistics, and billing documentation.
- Complete program statistics and reports as required for internal recordkeeping and funders.
- Attend and participate in agency and departmental meetings
- Interact in a professional manner with parents/guardians of respite consumers; maintain professional conduct/detachment from personal involvements with the consumer(s) and/or their family members
- Report any unsafe situations, accidents, or incident to QA Director and supervisor immediately
- Attend required workshops and trainings
- Other duties as assigned
