 Personal Assistant – Skaneateles and Elbridge, P/T

Dept: Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Reports to: Consumers residing in Skaneateles and Elbridge, NY (and Indirectly to CDPAP Coordinator, ARISE Onon. Cty.)

Job Summary:  The purpose of this position is to perform personal care tasks as directed by the consumer in order to ensure consumer’s independence.  The consumer conducts interviews, does reference checks, hires the PA, monitors attendance and performance, reviews and approves time sheets, and, when necessary, terminates the PA.
                       
Requirements:

  • Must be able to fulfill this work schedule:  Skaneateles is M, W, and F from 9:30 am -11:30 am; Elbridge is one day a week in the afternoon from 1-5pm.
  • Able to follow written and/or oral  instructions, including Consumer’s Care Plan (formerly known as Needs Assessment) and ARISE policies and procedures
  • Able to document accurately the services provided each day to the consumer
  • Able to call in and out every shift using the Voice Recognition System
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as: lifting; transferring; carrying; reaching; kneeling; stooping; bending; etc., dependent upon the consumer’s needs for assistance
  • Maintain a clean drivers license
  • Able to clear background checks as required

Essential Functions:

  • Perform a variety of tasks as directed by the consumer.
  • Administer personal care to the consumer as directed, which may include but not be limited to: feeding; bathing; shaving; changing clothes; toileting; grocery shopping; and household chores.
  • Submit timesheets on a timely basis to ARISE and use the Voice Recognition System every shift.
